Welcome in Delft!
The city of the Delft ware, famous all over the world.
Delft also is a beautiful preserved medieval canal city; unique in The Netherlands. From a bridge over the Oude Delft you will experience with your own eyes what the wealth from the 16th century looked like.
Take a look at the leaning tower of the Oude Kerk (church), visit the Tegelmuseum (Tile museum), discover the Gemeenlandshuis of Delfland (1520) with her beautiful front and the almost hidden Bagijnhof.
Discover the history of Delft and the history of The Netherlands when we visit the Prinsenhof (former St. Agathaklooster (monastery) where Willem van Oranje, the National Father, was killed by Balthasar Gerards in 1584. We will go to the Nieuwe Kerk (church) where the marble tomb of Willem van Oranje is located and where amongst others the painter Johannes Vermeer was buried.
On the Grote Markt we will take a look at the rests from the Middle Ages, like a large square tower from the 13th century and the Town hall from 1620, designed by Hendrick de Keyser. Across you will find the Nieuwe Kerk (church), a late-gothic cross basilica (Early 16th century).
Your guide will inform you concerning the butter- meat- and fish halls around the Grote Markt and the intimate old canals, spacious town houses and disappeared monasteries, which all tell an own story.
