This is great! The past thirty years has seen a lot of hard work being done to the splendid monuments of Deventer. New restaurants with excellent cuisines have mushroomed. A Walking Dinner in Deventer may very well be the best way to experience this!
Have you ever given it a thought that already in the eighth century hunters and fishermen lived in the dunes of the IJssel? They were at the origin of Deventer. Deventer grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution and became a member of an important European Business Association made up of 150 prominent cities. We can now enjoy it so much thanks to all the efforts of our ancestors!
What can you expect? We have booked a number of courses for you in several restaurants in the centre of the city. You will walk from the one course to the next. In between you will visit the impressive Lebuïnuss church, the Grote Markt, the Brink and the small cake shop of Deventer, the stylish theatre discotheque Luxor and what remains of a former convent!
Not only the bubbles in your glass will sparkle during this evening. You'll be surprised to find out how vibrant such a small Hanseatic town on the IJssel can be. And if you are able to be part of this for one night, that is indeed being lucky!
