You are a very lucky person: the city of Ede has decided to reconstruct the squares, and to plant more trees, bushes and flowers! But that’s not the only reason why taking a Walking Brunch in Ede is such a good idea. More and more establishments open their doors. While we take our historic tour through Ede, almost everywhere there’s someone to be found preparing a great meal for us!
Also great is, that Ede is situated on the heath, which of course is a great reason to take a stroll. And a lot of things happened there in the past...
For example, every year there’s a Memorial Day of ‘Operation Market Garden’ held on that heath. Paratroopers jump out of real, still-functioning aircrafts from World War II!
There are lots of memorials of this was to be found in Ede. Next to the Bevrijdingsplein (Liberation square) you can find a Canadian tank at the Langenberg, there’s a plaque in remembrance of the personnel of the railroad company that didn’t survive the war... And of course: the Airborne Monument ! Everything you need to know about these monuments, will be told to you by our experienced guide. And of course there’s lots of time left to talk about all the things you’ve heard and seen during one of the courses of the brunch!
As an extra, we’ll visit one of the great mills that also can be found in Ede. Which one will it be this time: the Doesburger mill? The Keetmolen mill perhaps? Or will it be the Concordia?
