We all know the three wise monkeys that portray the saying ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’.
Well, you won’t see or hear anything evil during the Walking Brunch in Deventer! And speaking evil is completely out of the question!
The goal of this Walking Brunch is to see and hear as much as possible, and talk about what you’ve seen and heard with your family and friends on a (heated) terrace! Also, you will use your mouth to taste all different kinds of delicacies! So, therefore we could say: to see, hear, talk and taste! And we will also walk from one interesting sight to another.
In this very old city next to river the IJssel, you can find the oldest stone house in The Netherlands: the Proosdij, which was built in 1130. We will go and see this special building of course! But be careful...
After this intense sightseeing, you are allowed to sit and rest for a while, while you enjoy he first round of brunch. Doesn’t a cup of coffee with a slice of the special Deventer honey cake (Deventer koek) sound tempting?
Fortunately, the different sites in Deventer are old, but solid. You won’t have to walk around on your tiptoes! But, sometimes longer legs would definitely come in handy when visiting Deventer. Like during the yearly street festival, when you can find hundreds of dressed-up people walking by on stilts!
But, for our tour, just walking on your own two legs is enough. You will be guided by one of our professional guides during your tour through the city. We’ll walk past market square the Brink, weighing house the Waag, the fountain called Wilhelminafontein, all the way to the church Lebuïnuskerk. Before you know it, it’s time for the next round of brunch! What will you order this time?
