Of course, the beautiful provincial town Alkmaar is known for her traditional cheese market. Holland Tour Guides will take you to this beautiful city with her cosy old centre and the Waag (weight house) on the Waagplein, where the cheese market has been organized for ages now. You can observe the cheese carriers carrying their barrows with cheeses from and to the Waag, where the cheese is weighed and approved, in their traditional clothes and with their strange fast run.
The Holland Tour Guides coach will then bring you to Schermerhorn, where you will see three old windmills. We will observe one of those windmills from the inside and will learn how the polders used to be pumped dry on wind power.
On the return road we will visit the beautiful city Edam, where we will visit an authentic cheese farm, where they still manufacture cheese in a traditional way (of course we will also taste it!).
