Your luxurious Holland Tour Guides coach is at your disposal at the starting point in Amsterdam, just like your personal guide. Today, he will show you a number of highlights of North- and South Holland and he will tell you beautiful stories and anecdotes about both beautiful provinces.
09.30 - 10.30 Visit Zaanse Schans We will first drive to Zaandam, where we will visit the Zaanse Schans. The Zaanse Schans is a park where original green wooden buildings (houses, workplaces, but also the very first Albert Heijn supermarket) were placed and rebuilt from the whole Zaandam region. Because of the fact that the original windmills have been preserved and restored for the greater part, you will get a great image of the Zaandam region from earlier ages.
11.00 - 12.30 Tour Volendam From Zaandam we will drive with our coach and our guide to the old fishing village Volendam. The fishermen used to leave Volendam with their cutters and fished the former Zuyder Zee. Together with the guide we will walk along the cosy harbor, over the dike and along many shops and restaurants. Your guide will tell you about the history of the village and her inhabitants, who are often still dressed in traditional costumes. We will also visit a cheese dairy where the famous North Holland cheese is still prepared according to traditional methods.
12.30 - 13.30 Lunch in Volendam We invite you for a nice lunch in this small village. We will have a rest before we continue with the afternoon part of our tour. Eat tastily.
14.45 - 15.45 Tour at the Delft blue porselain factory We will then drive to Delft. We will visit a factory where the famous Delft ware is produced. You will get a guided tour through the company museum, where you will see beautiful porcelain showpieces, produced in beautiful delft blue. We will also show you how the porcelain is painted; you will get a demonstration of it. Pay attention; you might do this at home as well…! We will end the guided tour in the showroom, where you can buy something if you want to.
16.15 - 17.00 Visit Madurodam / Scheveningen Our next stop will be in Scheveningen, the fashionable seaside resort at the North Sea coast, where we will stop at Madurodam. We will get off here. We will take a look at the many highlights of our country like the Dom in Utrecht, Schiphol, the Amsterdam canals and much more typical Dutch things. Everything copied down to the last detail, however 25 x smaller than the original.
17.15 - 18.00 Tour Den Haag / Binnenhof Finally, we will take you for a city trip through the Royal Residence The Hague. We will pass the Lange Vijverberg, take a look at the Old Town Hall at the Groenmarkt, and will pass the Binnenhof (Dutch Parliament) and the Buitenhof (square), the Gevangenpoort and much more. The competent guide will tell you everything about the origin and the history of the city and her inhabitants. Experience the history of this beautiful city! Of course we will also show you the Palace Noordeinde, built in 1533, also called “Het Oude Hof" (the Old Court). The area in which the Palace is located, the Hofkwartier, also has many beautiful art nouveau buildings like the Mercurius building. The Oude mannenhuis (Old men’s home) and some conventicles can be found in the Hofkwartier.
After The Hague we will return to Amsterdam, where we will get off and say goodbye to each other. If you want to, we can postpone this farewell for a while, and have diner together in a restaurant selected by Holland Tour Guides. Inquire about the possibilities!
