10.30 - 11.00 Coffee and cake
We will first sit snugly together and enjoy a nice cup of coffee with cake of course!
11.00 - 13.00 Guided Tour Maastricht is undisputedly the oldest city of the Netherlands and you will during the tour hear: “this is the oldest or the first”. Maastricht owes its existence to the Meuse river. In order to cross the Meuse the Romans built a bridge and a settlement developed on its banks that has grown into the city of Maastricht as we know it today. Who views the city from the bridge gets to know a very different Maastricht. Don’t forget also that Maastricht was the largest city of the Netherlands right up to the golden century.
13.00 - 14.00 Lunch After that we will go for a nice lunch in a cosy restaurant in the heart of Maastricht.
14.00 - 17.00 Workshop baking pies The nicest pie is still the one from Limburg! Learn how to make pies in a real bakery situated close to a century-old watermill in the heart of Maastricht. Before it will be your turn, you will be welcomed with fresh coffee and a real pie from Limburg and will be shown around the historic water mill. And then, it will be your turn! Is there a baker in you?
The arrangement is finished! Or maybe not. Discuss with your friends the latest gossip, stories and rumours while enjoying a drink and / or a snack in the restaurant or café that Holland Tour Guides has booked. Enquire about the various possibilities.
