The Netherlands are known for their windmills and to-day we will visit these in the romantic scenery of Kinderdijk!
10.30 - 14.00 Boat tour
It is time to board the lounge boat. Your HTG guide will lead you through the lovely old industrial properties. While cruising on the Nieuwe Maas and the Lek, you will hear about the worthwhile sites we will come across on our way. We will moor after about an hour at the Kinderdijk. There are no less than 19 mills, proclaimed World Culture Monuments by Unesco. These mills are still inhabited and we will of course look at one from close by. When cruising back you will be in awe when you see the imposing skyline of Rotterdam! The lunch will be giving on the boat!
14.00 - 16.00 City Tour RotterdamWe will view the imposing inner city shops of Rotterdam with the "Coolsingel", the "Hofplein", the "Weena", the "Schouwburgplein'. the "Lijnbaan" shopping centre, the "Meent" and the "Beursplein" with the "Koopgoot". We will naturally also see the distinct Erasmus Bridge and the largest water tower of the Netherlands. This tower was built in 1873 and remained in use until 1977. Office units now occupy the previous water reserve tanks.
If you so wish, we can round off this wonderful day with a regal dinner in a restaurant in Rotterdam or somewhere along the way.
